Read a Book!
Ladies love men who can have conversations with them, it’s not a secret. You don’t want to be stuck listening to someone who is an airhead for hours; you want a woman with some wit to match sharp looks. If you want an intelligent woman then you’re going to have to work for it. Don’t roll your eyes; you’re not going to have to read about twinkly vampires. We sent out a poll to some sexy library science co-eds about what they’re reading. They got back to us with three books that don’t suck that much, but will impress the ladies.
The Great Gatsby
Hey, give us a minute and don’t roll your eyes. We probably should have read it when it came up in Mrs. Keller’s reading list, but we were young and missed out. We would not mind living Jay Gatsby’s life; he’s young and a millionaire who can have any woman he wants. He made his fortune as a bootlegger and everything turns bad in a violent way. The way to hook a date with this one is simple. Mention that you either loved or hated the differences between the movie and the book. It works!
A Song of Ice and Fire (Series)
It is also known as Game of Thrones. This show was a smash hit that had everyone in our offices talking. In case you missed it, the third season just ended and you can catch up over this summer. This is the perfect excuse to have a hottie snuggled up on the couch with you, by the way. Bringing up that you’ve read the books is a huge feather in your cap. Honestly, we loved them; another dude who walked up and seized the day is the main character. Once a king dies the bastard kid of his wife takes the throne. All hell breaks loose.
The Book Thief
This one’s a little morbid, but all the chicks we asked, loved it. It’s currently in production as a movie, so you’re going to be ahead of the curve and dazzle the babes with your opinions. The Book Thief is narrated by Death during World War Two (he mentions that he’s very busy during the time). The book really is saved by the way it’s told, Death’s narration is funny in places where it probably shouldn’t be. Death follows a set bunch of characters, in the end he ends up with a book that needs returned to its original owner. It’s not only spooky chicks who love somewhat dark books. A babe who loves this book will probably be great to have adventurous dates with.
We picked these books not only because chicks read them, but because we liked them too. Plus, they all come equipped with either movies or TV shows that you can watch with your intelligent babe. If you hit it off, offering to get together and watch something sometime is a great way to get yourself into the date zone.
